What comes after a PhD...?

My first blog post.

The purpose of this blog is to document my post-PhD experiences, be that new research, next steps, or adventures (also see the 'About Me' section!). When I finished my PhD, I admit to feeling a little lost. My sole goal for the last 5+ years had been to complete my thesis and become Dr Bevan - I hadn't thought about what would come next! I'm sure many others who have degrees in the humanities and/or completed a PhD can relate. I want to use this blog to share my tips for navigating those steps (you can use me as a guinea pig) but also to make sure that I continue to strive to reach my goals -and I don't just mean professionally. I've always been active and love being surrounded by nature - it's part of my identity! I don't want to lose this now that my time has become less flexible, so I've tasked myself with doing more of what I love and finding like-minded souls to do it with! I'm excited to share what I find.
